Lassing Park is a beautiful dog and family friendly beach on Tampa Bay in the Old Southeast Neighborhood of St. Petersburg. Kiteboarders also love it's location and frequent onshore winds. The Suncoast Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation hosted a beach clean-up on Saturday November 23rd. We educated members of the neighborhood and their kids about the harmful impacts of single-use plastic consumption. In just one hour, we collected over 72 plastic straws, 58 plastic bottles & 196 plastic bottle caps! Our goal is to collect this data in one clean-up per month to help bring awareness to this issue.
