Residents of St. Petersburg will finally be able to take part in curbside recycling starting Oct. 1.
The fee for a residential single-family home is $2.75 per month, billed annually at the start of the year. Residents who sign up for 2010 will receive a prorated bill.
Collectors will pick up recyclables once a week. The following items can be recycled:

Plastic bottles and all plastics labeled 1-7

Glass: brown, green, clear

Paper
-
Cardboard and boxes, broken down flat

Aluminum and metal cans
The service is not available for condominiums or apartment buildings.
